SHIRLEY CLARKE
Born and raised in Toronto, Shirley graduated from the University of Toronto in
1976 with a degree in Political Science. She was elected President of the University’s
Student Council for 1976/77 - only the second woman in its history to do so - and
was elected to the Governing Council of University of Toronto. Shirley also served
on Toronto’s Task Force on the Status of Women.
Shirley has extensive experience in real estate - having personally bought, sold
and managed over 100 properties from 1984 to 1996. For three years, she also owned
and operated Grosvenor Property Management.
Shirley has been married to her husband John since 1974 and has three children,
Laura, Jordan, and Brooke.
Shirley and her family moved to North Vancouver in 1988 where she continued real
estate investing with her husband, John. From 1988 to 1992, Shirley was also a partner
in Vacances Provencales, a European home rental business specializing in villas
in Provence, France and Italy.
